Wolfwood had been Greta's home for the last three years. In her earlier life, she
lived through a hard but interesting time, pulling a working cart alongside soul
mate Billy; they made many a trip to Appleby-
When their owner died, Greta and Billy were left in Trust to a local animal rescue, but after ten years they could no longer afford to keep horses. In 2003 Billy died.
Wolfwood took over ownership and care of all the rescue’s horses and they have been together on ten acres of scenic land ever since.

Greta has had a wonderful and pampered retirement and throughout her forty years had never been ill until New Year 2010. Intensive care and loving attention were not enough, and so when she could no longer stand, but still had some dignity, we let her go.
Greta will be fondly remembered for being a character, the “Boss”, with horses and people alike. The other horses followed her; she was a leader, who did not take kindly to being “fussed”.
Rest in Peace Greta
1970 -
Greta will be sadly missed.
