BLUE: a yearling colt foal, skewbald (brown patches over a white background) with one blue eye and one normal coloured one, is a Shetland type. He came to us in a shocking state of emaciation and ill health. He had been living in a back garden and sheltering under a trampoline. For the first few weeks we didn't know whether he would live, but eventually he pulled through, and now he's doing well. He has settled into the little herd and is friends with everyone. He is friendly, brave and well behaved.

MADDY: a 24 yr old Connemara mare, light grey in colour. She was brought to us in October 2010 because her owner could no longer care for her, but loaning her out was unsuccessful. She has arthritis in her joints and sarcoids, both of which need monitoring. She has settled well and is very much head mare, she's best friends with Maverick, who's head boy.
